Belle Isle is a city in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,988 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 5,531 people, 2,199 households, and 1,618 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,873.2 inhabitants per square mile (1,106.5/km²). There were 2,299 housing units at an average density of 1,194.3 per square mile (459.9/km²).
There were 2,199 households out of which 29.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.9% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.4% were non-families. 20.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.89.
